Just recently named the Young Artist of the Year in Latvia, conductor Aivis Greter's name is already being heard internationally - lately, the former leader of choir "Kamēr..." has been performing with European orchestras as well as at Riga and Gothenburg opera houses. In his first full-length programme with chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga, he has turned to works bursting of intense emotions, daring ideas and youthful energy. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Second Flute Concerto presents operatic harmonies and dramatic theatrality, and Beethoven's Third, so-called Heroic Symphony has been written at the turn of the Classical and Romantic eras. The latter has served as an inspiration for the new work by the brilliant young Latvian talent and contemporary romantic Jēkabs Jančevskis.
