International children's and youth choir concert. From Taiwan to Ventspils

Sometimes one concert is enough to feel the world closer. In Ventspils, the colors of Taiwanese culture, the voices of young people and music that unites people across continents will meet at the concert. It will be a colorful musical journey from Taiwan to the shores of the Baltic Sea – a concert that will feature authentic Asian music, folk traditions and youthful energy, as well as world-loved choral music classics.

Two Taiwanese choirs will participate in the concert - "Puzangalan Children's Choir", conductor Sheng Ying Wu and "Yo Wu Wei Children's Choir", conductor Liao Chih-Hui .

The “Puzangalan Children's Choir” brings together Paiwan (Paiwan) indigenous youth from southern Taiwan. The Paiwani are one of Taiwan's oldest communities. The choir's name means "Hope" in the Paiwani language, and the choir's sound reflects traditional melodies, rhythms, and the special sense of community that is characteristic of the Paiwani culture. The choir's sound is considered one of the most beautiful in Taiwan, and its repertoire combines ancient indigenous melodies with modern choral music. The group has achieved great success in international competitions, and conductor Sheng Ying Wu is known for her ability to transform traditional songs into emotional and modern musical stories.

Meanwhile, the “Yo Wu Wei Children's Choir” from Tainan City, Taiwan, has been known for its colorful musical performances and ability to combine musical traditions from different cultures for more than twenty years. The group regularly participates in important cultural events in Taiwan, collaborates with artists from many countries around the world, and creates concert performances in which high artistic quality is combined with the true joy of young people in making music.

The Taiwanese choir concert in Ventspils will be a rare opportunity to hear authentic Asian music and experience how diverse, lively and exciting choral music can be. It will be an unusual musical encounter that will inspire, surprise and remain in the memory long after the last note.

Photography and video recording are possible during the event. The obtained materials will be used for publicity purposes of the event, on the website and social media accounts of the concert hall "Latvija".
