Latvian National Symphony Orchestra & Michele Gamba

At the Concert Hall "Latvija", audiences will have the opportunity to experience one of the concerts of the LNSO's centenary season—a program where French elegance, Italian musical brilliance, and the monumental orchestral language of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók converge. Splendid melodies, vibrant orchestral timbres, and an emotionally charged musical program will create an evening that allows listeners to enjoy the power and diversity of the orchestra's sound in its full glory.

Taking the conductor's podium is Italian conductor Michele Gamba, who in recent years has become one of the most sought-after new-generation opera and symphonic music interpreters in Europe. He has collaborated with such outstanding musicians as Antonio Pappano and Daniel Barenboim, serving as their assistant in major opera houses and concert halls. Currently, he regularly conducts at Milan's Teatro alla Scala, the Berlin State Opera, the Royal Opera House in London, and elsewhere around the world. Michele Gamba is highly praised for his vivid, dramaturgically compelling interpretations that combine Italian musical tradition, an energetic stage presence, and a refined shaping of orchestral sound.

This season, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 100th anniversary, reaffirming its significant place in Latvian cultural life and the European music scene. Founded in 1926, the LNSO is the oldest symphonic orchestra in Latvia, and its century-long activity has shaped the nation's professional musical traditions. The orchestra performs in the most prestigious concert halls, collaborates with world-renowned conductors and soloists, and represents Latvian musical culture in international concert tours and recordings.

The centenary concerts are a special event for both the orchestra and the audience. It is a rare opportunity to experience Latvia's finest symphonic ensemble during its jubilee season and to be part of a story that has been written in Latvian culture for 100 years.

The concert is organized by SIA “Kurzemes filharmonija” with the support of the Ventspils State City Municipality and the State Culture Capital Foundation.

Photography and video recording are possible during the event. The obtained materials will be used for publicity purposes of the event, on the website and social media accounts of the concert hall "Latvija".
