Organ Music on Sunday. Britten, Barber and Beauvais

On Sunday afternoon, beautiful and inspiring organ music will be played at the Ventspils Concert Hall "Latvija". This concert will be an opportunity to stop, listen and let the sounds of the organ fill your Sunday with light and peace.

The audience will hear the familiar and emotional compositions of Benjamin Britten and Samuel Barber, as well as the colorful and joyful music of Guy Beauvais. The concert will also be given a special atmosphere by works and melodies inspired by sacred music, which create a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere.

At the organ in the concert – Agnese Abramāne, a new generation Latvian organist with a broad musical horizon and active concert experience. She is a master's student in the organ class of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, studying with Professor Vita Kalnciema, and has previously studied with Kristīne Adamaite and Larisa Bulava. Agnese has also studied at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts with Vincent Bernards and Jürgen Essl.

Agnese Abramāne learned the basics of organ playing at the Ventspils Music Secondary School, but has supplemented her knowledge and interpretation skills in master classes with prominent European organists and teachers, including Hans Ūlas Eriksson, Christoph Bossert, László Fassang, Wayne Marshall and others. She regularly performs in Latvia and abroad – in Germany, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands and Lithuania. Agnese also has a violin education and a bachelor's degree in musicology from the Latvian Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. She has a special interest in medieval and sacred music – since 2017 she has been a member of the vocal ensemble Schola Cantorum Vox Iubilantis. This versatile experience is also clearly revealed in her organ playing – sensitive, thoughtful and musically rich. Olga Trubenko will be Agnese Abramāne's organ assistant at the concert.
