PIANO DAY | Day of piano music I Robert Fleitz & John Kameel Farah
On March 29, celebrating the international day dedicated to piano or “Piano Day”, pianists Robert Fleitz and John Kameel Farah will perform at the concert hall “Latvija” in Ventspils.
The first day dedicated to piano music or “Piano Day” was celebrated five years ago on March 29, 2015. The day when at the suggestion of German pianist and composer Nils Frahm, everyone in the world was invited to honor this instrument and its music. The 88th day of the year (referring to 88 piano keys) has become a tradition and will be held for the sixth time this year.
“Why the world needs a Piano Day? For several reasons. Mainly because it does not hurt to honor this instrument and all that is related to it – to highlight performers, composers, piano builders, tuners, lifters and carriers and most of all, the listener!” said the idea author N. Frahm.
