Summer evening concerts. Anthony Romanyuk. On Modes
On Friday, June 26, at 7:00 PM, audiences at the Ventspils Concert Hall “Latvija” are invited to experience a unique electro-acoustic concert program “On Modes” – a journey through the colors of sound, eras, and styles together with pianist Anthony Romanjuks and David Klavins’ piano M470i.
Internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Anthony Romaniuk (Anthony Romaniuk, Australia, Spain) combines classical music, jazz, neo-classical and electronica in his creative work. In the program “On Modes” he creates a rich and meditative sound experience in which piano merges with electronics and live improvisation.
The concert will feature music from the album “On Modes”, as well as specially selected works and sources of inspiration: John Adams, Arvo Pärt, transcriptions from “Radiohead” and Björk, as well as Romanyuk’s original works and improvisations. The album “On Modes” is recorded on the basis of the works of world-famous pianist Nils Fram (nils frahm) for the M450 piano, made by David Klavins.
The concert will be given a special sound by the concert hall's Dāvidas Kļaviņas M470i concert piano, which with its powerful and spatial sound turns the concert into an almost installation experience - the listener is literally immersed in the sound field.
“On Modes” is a concert where classical, contemporary music, and electronics meet in a unified, vibrant world of sound.
Summer evening concerts offer the opportunity to experience a special atmosphere – leisurely Friday evenings in the beautiful concert hall "Latvija" in the company of great artists and exquisite music.
The concert is organized by SIA “Kurzemes Philharmonic”.
