Tarek Yamani trio & Toms Rudzinskis

Tarek Yamani (Tarek Yamani, Lebanon/USA) is an internationally acclaimed Lebanese-American jazz pianist and composer whose music uniquely combines American jazz improvisation with the Arabic musical tradition. His creative language is rich, emotionally intense, and intellectually charged, creating a vibrant, multi-layered sound.
At the concert in Ventspils, Yamani will perform together with outstanding internationally recognized musicians – double bassist Andrew Downing (Andrew Downing, Canada), saxophonist Toma Rudzinski and percussionist Kaspar KurdekoEach of them is a dynamic and creative personality who composes and performs their own music, but in their joint concert they will create a multi-layered jazz evening in which different cultures, rhythms and musical thinking will meet - from delicate lyrics to explosive improvisation.

Tarek Yamani Born in Lebanon, raised in Beirut, and later forged an international career in Europe and the United States. He has performed at prestigious venues and festivals around the world, including New York, Berlin, and the Middle East, and has Thelonious Monk International Jazz Composers Competition laureate. Jamani's music is distinguished by deep cultural dialogue, rhythmic diversity, and free improvisation.
Saxophonist and composer Toms Rudzinskis is one of the brightest Latvian jazz musicians, whose style is characterized by energy, openness to experiments, and international experience.
Andrew Downing – Canadian bassist and composer – actively participates in various contemporary and improvised music projects in Europe and North America.
Versatile drummer and composer Kaspars Kurdeko works in the fields of jazz, academic and theatrical music, collaborating with leading Latvian musicians.
